THE DIRT ON MAKE UP REMOVAL WIPES

Wednesday, July 31, 2013
If you love makeup, you know that you need a great product to remove it especially before bed! Do not sleep in your makeup please, your skin will thank you later. Always make sure that you prevent yourself from having clogged pores or a stained pillowcase. I just recently added makeup removing wipes into my routine. Previously I would just use a really good facial wash to remove everything and then use my facial brush to make sure I got everything off. Using makeup wipes before washing your face makes the actual job of washing your face a lot easier and a lot quicker.

  • Makeup wipes are great for travel, perfect for my trip next week to New Orleans.
  • Makeup wipes are refreshing to the skin
  • Makeup wipes allow you to remove makeup very quickly and easily
  • Makeup wipes are great at preventing clogged pores and ensuring that you have a clean face at night

Check out these Makeup Wipe options and one unconventional affordable
makeup wipe that I use daily:

Sephora Face Makeup Removing Wipes, $10
This product is supposed to be perfect with someone that sensitive skins. They are great wipes for removing makeup. It makes cleaning your face a lot quicker and easy and won't break out your skin.

Estee Lauder Take it Away LongWear Makeup Remover Towelettes, $17.50
These towelettes are supposed to be great at removing a lot of makeup without using multiple wipes. They clean your entire face leaving not a trace of dirt or makeup. In the hot weather these are also great at refreshing your skin if you are laying out in the park, on the beach, or just running errands.

MAC Wipes, $29
These are supposed to be perfect for those who are too lazy to completely wash your face at night before bed. It's excellent in place of using a facial wash at night because it gets rid of a lot of dirt on your face.

Johnson & Johnson Hand and Face Wipes, $2.49
These wipes above are all great but can get pricey! Browsing the isles of my local drug store I noticed in the baby section Johnson & Johnson hand and face wipes for only $2.49 at Target! I decided to give it a try and to my surprise these worked out just as well as my expensive facial wipes. They removed a lot of my makeup (though occasionally I have to use two instead of one wipe). They stayed moist in the container, they are great for sensitive skin since they are meant to be used on small babies and most importantly they are super affordable!

TRAVEL BUCKET LIST: HELLO SEATTLE!

Wedding season is in full swing! I ditched the East coast to head out West for my cousins wedding. Bellevue is a city in the Eastside region of King County, Washington, across Lake Washington from Seattle and dubbed Seattle’s largest suburb. My first time there I was really excited! We stayed at the beautiful Luxury Hotel Bellevue. The 67 rooms in the hotel offer all the comforts of home plus all of the splurges guests love. The health club and spa facilities were wonderful especially for the young kids and my teenage cousin that enjoyed the option of shooting hoops on the large indoor basketball court, swimming in one of two pool options, or using one of the outdoor tennis courts.

The majority of the bridal party and guests stayed at the hotel since the hotel housed the wedding. The staff was absolutely amazing and very accommodating, making sure all of our needs were met. We dined at Splash, one of the more casual dining experiences the hotel offers. Prior to the wedding I checked out the suite the bridal party would be the morning of the wedding. It was absolutely stunning. The Rainier Suite located on the top floor of the hotel, offers an enchanting view of Mount Rainier and 1,900 square feet of luxurious comfort including a formal living area complete with fireplace, dining room table for eight to 12 guests, a wet bar and two balconies. Follow me on the video app Vine @LoveJonesy to see an MTV Cribs style tour of the suite. Should you ever find yourself around Bellevue, here are some things to consider:

Shop until you drop! The Bellevue Collection consists of three shopping centers in downtown Bellevue: Bellevue Square, Bellevue Place, and Lincoln Square. The Bellevue Collection is currently one of the nation's top retail complexes. Visit the Bellevue Botanical Garden for a beautiful walk through 53 acres of gardens.
Stop at Top Pot Donut and taste some delicious treats! I had a great time! I highly recommend this destination.

MY FAVORITE SUMMER FACIAL PRODUCTS

Monday, July 22, 2013
Back in February I did a post about my skin care routine (click here). I mentioned my skin history and favorite facial products. Since then I've adopted some new products into my routine that have helped to keep my skin healthy, clean and clear for the Summer.

I absolutely love using the Dickinson's Oil Controlling Astringent after I have washed my face every night.  I love this product because it leaves the skin clean and very soft. It also does not have a strong scent and does not irritate the skin and leave a burning sensation. It's very affordable and will last you a while if you apply it to the skin with a cotton swab.

I have heard a lot of great things about Dr Bronner's products because they can be used for many things. You can clean products, your hair, the skin, makeup brushes, and more with them! I love using the Dr Bronner's Magic Soap Tea Tree Facial Wash on my skin. Tea Tree oil helps clear up blemishes and even out your skin tone. You can purchase this product online (amazon.com) and also in stores such as Whole Foods.

Jason-Soothing Aloe Vera Moisturizing Gel is a new product I recently added into my skin routine. This is the last product I applied to my skin before I go to bed. It is a non-oily daily moisturizing gel that gives an instant dry skin relief. I've started using this in place of a night time moisturizer and so far so good. It's also great to apply to the skin after shaving as well. Since using this product I've noticed a reduced amount of breakouts in the Summer.

When I traveled to Vegas this year for my Birthday I wanted to purchase a small facial wash I could bring with me on the trip. I spotted a travel size version of this St Ives Apricot Scrub and decided to give it a whirl. After 3 days in the Vegas heat I noticed how well my skin was doing and I attributed that to this product. Since then I've applied this scrub into my routine 3-4 times a week in place of my tea tree oil or African Black Soap (which I still love). This product is helpful to exfoliate the skin and does a great job really really cleaning your skin.

Stay tuned for a future Summer facial product video on my Youtube Channel.
