So long, Farewell .... more like BRB

Thursday, May 6, 2010
I leave on Saturday
for my Birthday/Mother's Day vacation with my Mom.

Super excited! Can you tell??

We'll be staying at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. They're having AMAZING
specials right now, check this out.

If you travel between April 25-June 20th you can get ......
  • free companion airfare
  • 4th night free
  • over $650 worth of FREE activities.
It doesn't get any better than that! Does it? Plus have you seen this place? Amazing restaurant, activities, pools and beaches. Often when you go on vacation you end up leaving your resort to venture out BUT with the Atlantis, everything is right at your foot steps. I can't DESCRIBE how excited I am. Here are some things that I am 100% going to check out.

Aquaventure - Atlantis' 141-acre waterscape with pools, thrilling waterslides (both body and tube) and white-sandy beaches. There is also a lazy river and a river-rapid ride (wave generated waters - so fun!)

Dolphin interactions at
Dolphin Cay are a must! Dolphin Cay is the dolphin interaction and education center located at Atlantis. It was created with the goal of enlightening and educating visitors about dolphins and various other marine mammals, including sea lions. You have a choice of shallow or deep water interaction. They also have a sea lion interaction program - which is also great! Here click for more information

Atlantis' is home to the largest open-air marine habitat, second only to Mother Nature, which celebrates the world that is synonymous with Atlantis, the earth’s oceans. The marine habitat is Atlantis’ extraordinary celebration of the sea: 14 lagoons full of more than 250 species and 50,000 live creatures from the oceans of the world, including giant rays, sawfish, piranha, barracuda, rainbows of tiny tropical fish and, of course sharks. Guests can get up close and personal with Atlantis's marine inhabitants during regular daily fish feedings in the lagoons – observing, interacting and learning about the varied sea life as the Atlantis Seakeepers tend to them. Days and times vary (look in The Atlatean when you arrive).

The myth of Atlantis comes alive in The Dig, a maze of underground passageways and tunnels offering underwater vistas into the boulevards and streets of the ruins of the lost city. Along the way are the laboratories of the ancient Atlanteans, with their inventions of electricity, flying machines and submarines; the royal treasury, guarded by deadly piranha, and endless opportunities to explore and immerse into a highly imaginative recreation of a mystery, complete with an entire hieroglyphic language to decipher.

Dining - there is everything from Starbucks to Nobu to Mesa Grill.....so you will not go hungry :) I can't wait to try Bobby Flay's restaurant, Mesa Grill.

Situated around the existing Marina at Atlantis, Marina Village resembles a quaint Bahamian marketplace, with three main plazas each defined by their own sense of place and style. The design features colorful paved walkways, lofty coconut trees, boldly painted buildings and lush vegetation, combined to create a spirited and authentic Bahamian setting. This charming and vibrant bazaar features 21 retail shops and five distinct restaurants, as well as local entertainment, giving visitors an unforgettable and distinctly Bahamian vacation experience.

The Atlantis
Theater shows recent Hollywood releases on a big screen, located in the Convention Center Rotunda.

Last but not least, the Mandara Spa is great for massages or facials. The signature Mandara spa experience begins as soon as the guest arrives, as spa hosts guide visitors across a glass bridge and bamboo water garden leading to the reception area. All spa guests can partake in the signature Taking The Waters bathing experience, which includes sauna, steam, cold plunge, hot whirlpool and Asian showers or relax with herbal and Ayurvedic teas, before and after their treatments. I'l have to talk my mom into this one. We're not sure with out budget if we'll be able to do a spa treatment but i'm hoping we can.

So what do you think ... I'm about to have a blast right? I can't wait to share with you all my experience (photos and video and full review)

Special Happy Birthday to my Grandmother who turns ??? tomorrow. Truth is .. no one knows how old she is. I never asked, but she looks great!

Don't forget this month I'm hosting my very first giveaway.
Please check it out HERE and enter (or post on your site too if think It's cool ... thanks!!!)

  33. I was wondering how short- I have short too... but I always pictured on my day, something soft, with a flower behind my ear.. think Nia Long in the movie "The Best Man." Even some old Hollywood 1940s soft waves. Hope this helps!
