"My Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades"

2009 has been a very interesting year. I've had a few ups and a lot of downs but overall I am thankful for having such an amazing group of family, friends, and a lot of rare opportunities in life. I am very excited about 2010 and my future. Instead of choosing one resolution, I decided to use my journal and write a lot of things I'd like to accomplish by 2011. I hope to complete the majority of it and check off each item as I complete it. Here are just a few things on my official bliss list (in no particular order).

1. Purchase art equipment (canvas, easel, paint supplies) and create my own art which will be displayed in my apartment. Just imagine painting to Songs in the Key of Life, a wine glass half filled near by. Finally allowing my imagination and inspirations run wild, I can't wait.

2. Cook a lot more and blog about the various recipes and meals I create. One of the first things I want to make is this avocado and grape tomato salad with shrimp. I found it on one of my favorite blogs to visit. Who is coming to dinna?

3. Decorate my bedroom and main hallway. Hallway theme= music and photography. Bedroom theme = photography, fashion, black/white, and class. Pictures will be posted on here when both rooms are completed.

4. Continue with P90X and go ten times harder than I did the first time to see even more amazing results.

5. Finally finish my screenplay.

6. Have a positive outlook on life ... do all I can to remain stress free and don't bring work home with me.

7. Check out some new shopping spots .... vintage shops, thrift stores, places that have hidden buys and great finds.

8. Explore New York! Check out more art museums, galleries, historic sites, etc.

9. Use my dictionary to learn a new word a day and use that word some how during my day to help expand my vocabulary.

10. Volunteer! Volunteer! Volunteer! Helping others who are less fortunate is in my blood. My Grandmother is the Director of a Women's Homeless Shelter in Boston. As a child, I always helped my grandmother there so when I moved to New York I joined NYC Cares. Unfortunately, when work got busy and I got lazy on the weekends I stopped volunteering. I hope to do a lot more volunteer work in 2010. For more information on NYC Cares click here

So that's just a few things! Share with me some of yours ....
